Pentagram is a multi-disciplinary, independently-owned design studio founded in 1972 by five British designers, Alan Fletcher, Theo Crosby, Colin Forbes, Kenneth Grange, and Mervyn Kurlansky, in Notting Hill, London. The purpose of establishing Pentagram is to expand their reach with bigger projects and clients, while still remaining independent. The firm has grown to include 24 partners in four offices around the world, each of whom are leaders in their individual fields. The partners are all practicing designers, and whether working collaboratively or independently, they do so in friendship. Pentagram’s work encompasses graphics and identity, products and packaging, exhibitions and installations, websites and digital experiences, advertising and communications, sound and motion.
